If you’re like me, cleaning your bathroom with a little OCD can be a very frustrating job. You want everything clean and new, like when you first stepped into your bathroom for the first time. Their’s dirt and grime in every corner; mold and crud in the wall tiles and tub drain, a fine layer of dust under the vanity, and you have to clean it on your Saturday off. Sucks, but what if there’s a way to clean it effectively and efficiently so that not only does the job get done, it might actually be fun.
Look at me, I sound like I’m about to sell you the next best cleaning agent. No, I promise I’m not. Here in this article, are 5 hacks to better clean your bathroom.
1. Tiles, Walls, Ceiling
Easy, first spray the tile, countertops, walls, and the ceiling with all-purpose cleaner and turn on the shower, cranking the hot water until steam builds (about seven minutes). Turn off the water, shut the door as you’re leaving, and let the steam and the cleaner mix for 15 minutes. Next, wipe down all surfaces with a clean wash cloth. To reach high spots try a dry microfiber mop. Wipe the tile floor, too, but only after you’ve finished the rest of the dirty work.
2. Cleaning Your Vanity
Because there are so many different kinds of vanities, you’ll need to find out what kind of cleaner your bathroom vanity requires. At Atlantic Vanity Source, we sell all kinds of vanities (wood, glass, marble, laminate), If you use the wrong kind of cleaner on your bathroom vanity, you may end up ruining it instead of improving its looks. Scrub your vanity. Soak your rag or sponge in water, pour out the cleaner and then get to work. Scrub your vanity with firm and even movements. A handy household tip is to use straight vinegar to clean your faucet. Let the vinegar air-dry and don’t use water to wash it off; that will take away the shine. Use the same rag to clean the bottom of the vanity on the tile floor to get that dirt off.
Believe it or not, the best solution to mirror streaks is a solution—vinegar and water. That’s right, the same vinegar you used to clean your faucet. Pour both the vinegar and a water, same ratio, into a bowl, and dip your washcloth in and wipe away. At Atlantic Vanity Source, we have proved over and over that this technique gets rid of streaks more than anything.
4. Shower Grout
Vinegar, vinegar, vinegar. Lol, I’m really giving you the secret formula over and over again, aren’t I? Fill a spray bottle with a half-and-half solution of vinegar and warm water. Spray on the grout, let it stand for 5-7 minutes, then scrub with a hard brush. To bring even more cleaning power to the table, cover grout lines with a paste of baking soda and water, then spray on the vinegar solution listed above.
5. Toilet Bowls
So this one includes the vinegar, but also instead of using harsh chemicals, you can disinfect your toilet bowl with hydrogen peroxide. It needs to sit for 20 minutes before flushing. Also scrub the toilet all around with the vinegar, and poof, your toilet looks germ-free.
These 5 hacks will certainly get your bathroom back to new and improved. You’ll love it, and your guests will too!
